How the work runs
The measure decides everything that comes after it
Tempered glass cannot be trimmed. Once a panel is tempered, a cut turns it into a pile of pebbles, which is exactly what tempering is for. That single fact is why a frameless shower door is priced from a measurement and not from a catalog, and why the visit comes before the number.
Almost no bathroom wall is plumb, and almost no shower curb is level. A quarter inch of lean across seven feet of glass is the difference between a door that closes on the first try and one that has to be shouldered. The template is where that gets caught, on paper, before anything is ordered.
On install day
A frameless enclosure goes in without the bathroom coming apart
The panels arrive cut, the hardware is set into the tile or the blocking behind it, and the door is adjusted until it holds wherever you leave it. Most enclosures are a single visit. What takes the time is the setting and the adjustment, not the carrying.
How we quote
The measure is free and it is the only honest way to price this work. If an opening is wrong for frameless, we say so at the measure instead of at the install.
